Trophy for cross-Channel swimmer

BRITISH swimmer Alex Ramsden has become the first person to be presented with the Eurotunnel Trophy for the fastest cross-Channel swim of the year. His swim, in July 2001, took nine hours 51 minutes.
The presentation was organised by the Channel Swimming and Piloting Federation which was established in 1999.
More than 40 prospective swims have been registered with the federation for the coming season.
