Twelve suspected illegal immigrants detained in Millyard Way, Dover after police helicopter scrambled

A dozen suspected illegal immigrants have today been detained by police in Dover and handed over to the Home Office Immigration Enforcement team.
Officers were called to Millyard Way in Dover, near Tilmanstone Salads, at 9.22am today, following reports of a suspicious group.
A police helicopter and patrol cars were seen in and around Tilmanstone, Eythorne and Elvington.
A spokesman confirmed: "Kent Police was called to Millyard Way, Dover at 9.22am on Friday 26 September, following reports of a group of suspected illegal immigrants.
"12 people have been detained and handed over to the Home Office Immigration Enforcement."
A spokesman from Bakkavor, who own the food preparation factory Tilmanstone Salads, said: “Bakkavor confirms that a group of unauthorised individuals entered its Tilmanstone Salads site today. The matter is now being managed by local Police services.”
This comes two days after nine people were arrested on immigration offences at Dover’s Eastern Docks.
It comes on the same day workers at a Maidstone car wash were detained after a raid by immigration officers.
