Two teenagers have been arrested following a spate of moped thefts.
On Monday, May 22, officers on patrol in Elvington, a village between Canterbury and Dover, spotted two people acting suspiciously with one of the vehicles nearby.
The suspected stolen moped was seized and further inquires led to the recovery of another one which had been reported stolen from Wingrove Hill on May 19.
Numberplates, believed to belong to a number of motorbikes and mopeds reported stolen, were also found.
The two boys from Dover, aged 15 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of stealing a motor vehicle.
They were released on bail until August 20 while inquiries continue.
Following this, police are urging motorcycle owners to take measures to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of theft.
Officers are encouraging bike owners to lock, chain and cover their vehicles to make it harder for thieves to window-shop their next target.
They are also urging motorbikes to be parked in a secure location, out of sight in a garage or secure back garden and owners who have to leave their vehicles in a public location, should try to find somewhere which is well-lit or covered by CCTV.
Finally, police are urging motorcycle owners to property mark parts of their bike as it is easier to identify the rightful owner if it gets stolen, but also harder for thieves to sell on.
