CLIVE WALKER’S message after Dover Athletic’s 3-1 win over Welling on Tuesday’s was simple: “That’s more like it - but now we have got to keep it going.”
The Dover manager had no hesitation in describing the performance as Whites’ best of the season, saying: “We showed the same kind of drive and enthusiasm that we showed last season, and that’s what I have been looking for.
“There were good performances throughout the team, but it’s no good doing it for one game. Now we have got to follow it up against Chippenham on Saturday and that’s bound to be a tough old game.”
Jamie Day, missing from the side beaten at Bath last Saturday because of a thigh injury, should be available this weekend.
Walker is also hoping that Matt Carruthers will recover from the calf strain that forced his departure 15 minutes from the end of the Welling match.
Next Tuesday Dover are away to Cambridge City.
