Commonwealth war memorial plans for Dover Western Heights on display
00:05, 22 November 2017
Two exhibitions take place for a consultation over a war memorial for Commonwealth servicemen.
People can view the proposals, talk to the team involved and give early feedback.
They will be held at Dover Library in Market Square today from 2pm to 7pm and on Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
The scheme is to build 12 white granite walls containing the names of 1.7m soldiers, sailors and airmen who died in both world wars.
It will be at Dover Western Heights, facing the sea.
The main public consultation continues until Sunday, December 10.
Dover District Council is involved in the early development of the project, which is expected to be delivered and managed by an independent charity.
People can see the plans online and share their views by completing a questionnaire.
That can be found on the web page dover.gov.uk/Consultation/Commonwealth-Memorial.
