Ferry services between Dover and Calais are facing delays of up to an hour because of strong winds.
It comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning across Kent which is in force until 9pm.
It is not expected to start until 3pm but blustery weather is already causing problems to travel.
On Twitter P&O Ferries said: "We're sorry to say that we're experiencing delays between #PODover and #POCalais of up to 1 hour due to the current adverse weather conditions.
"Please check in as normal, we'll get you on your way asap."
The warning covers the whole of the South of England and parts of Wales.
Drivers could also expect delays on the road and railways as some journeys may take longer than usual.
It is also likely some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and large waves
