From Queen Elizabeth II to Boris Johnson, a host of famous faces have been beamed onto the iconic White Cliffs over the years.

And now UFC star Conor McGregor has become the latest to be projected onto the landmark in Dover.

The Irishman was also beamed onto the Angel of the North in Gateshead, which stands 66ft tall.

At the same time, 350 miles away in Dover, a 200ft projection appeared on the famous White Cliffs.

It was all part of a PR campaign for the launch of his Forged Irish Stout this Saturday.

It is not the first time well-known figures have been projected onto the White Cliffs.

A stunning coastal tribute was shared in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her funeral.

The image of the much-loved royal was beamed onto the cliffs to commemorate the life of Britain's longest-serving monarch.

In May 2020, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson's face lit up the landmark in a protest message over the government's handling of the coronavirus crisis.

A tribute to Dame Vera Lynn was also projected onto the cliffs after her death in June 2020.
