Carruthers back for Trophy tie

DOVER Athletic enter the FA Trophy at the second round stage on Saturday with an away clash against Kent rivals Welling United.
Having finally won away from home for the first time this season with Tuesday’s win at Chatham, Whites will be able to make the relatively short trip to Park View Road in a slightly more confident frame of mind.
Dean Readings, who came on as a second-half substitute at Chatham, is available again after suspension to face Welling and Matt Carruthers will also be in contention after missing the last four matches with a back problem.
Whites will be looking to emulate their success in last season’s FA Trophy when they defeated Conference sides Gravesend and Scarborough before losing to Forest Green in the fifth round.
Welling, managed by former England international Paul Parker, have had an up and down season and currently lie in 18th place in the Dr Martens Premier Division, but they do have five games in hand on Dover who defeated them 2-1 in the league at the Hoverspeed Stadium in September.
