Miller pounced for his 18th goal of an already stellar season eight minutes from time to cancel out Piero Mingoia's 38th-minute opener for the hosts from an almost identical position in the six-yard box.

The National League side will host the League 2 strugglers at Crabble in 10 days time with the tie sure to be considered for TV coverage after seeing their hosts spurn some good chances to win the tie in 90 minutes at the Cambs Glass Stadium.

On Saturday Dover had an early warning when the muscular former Watford forward Uche Ikpeazu jinked his way inside and out on the left of the Whites area just three minutes in before buying himself room for a shot which he skewed wide as he lost his footing.

Both teams won corners but chances were at a premium as the sides sussed each other out and Jim Stevenson's shot dragged wide from 20 yards was as good as it got for the visitors.

Harrison Dunk headed over the angle of Mitch Walker's goal at the far post on 16 minutes while Walker held a low shot from Ikpeazu on 24 minutes after a poor clearing header from Jack Parkinson.

All-action Ikpeazu arrowed another effort high and wide after charging down the left while at the other end Ross Lafayette charged down a clearance kick from keeper Will Norris on the half-hour and though it came to nothing, seconds later he saw a shot from the edge of the box deflect off Mark Roberts and fly inches wide of Norris' post with the keeper getting a fingertip to it.

The hosts came closest to a breakthrough just after the half-hour when Mingoia's cross from the right beat the defence and fell to Ikpeazu who swung a thunderous shot against the underside of the bar from 10 yards out, with the hint of a deflection on the way.

The breakthrough arrived seven minutes before the break when Luke Berry's 20 yard shot was blocked by Walker who could not prevent the loose ball running to Dunk, and though the keeper stopped the follow-up, his parry fell to Mingoia to tap home inside the six-yard box.

Stevenson nodded over a deep Ricky Modeste free-kick at the other end as Whites sought an immediate reply while Walker did hold a Greg Taylor volley under his own bar moments later after failing to come for a deep free-kick while Clark fizzed another shot over the bar just before the break.

Roberts might have done better than nod wide after the interval after Berry had flicked on Mingoia's corner while Ricky Miller fired a rare chance wide from an angle after turning two markers on the left flank.

Nine minutes after the break Miller popped up on the right and jinked inside, beating three would-be tacklers before drawing a low save from Norris, with the subsequent corner cleared.

Just before the hour Roberts spurned a golden chance to double the lead when the ball fell to him 10 yards out from a free-kick but his prod was well over the bar.

James Dunne smashed over from 20 yards while a Modeste free-kick caused havoc on 63 minutes and ended with Lafayette's goalbound shot being blocked by former Gills man Leon Legge in the six yard box.

The game should have been up on 72 minutes when Mingoia burst from his own half before superbly playing in Ikpeazu who took a touch but blazed 20 yards over on the stretch from 10 yards out.

Whtes made them pay with eight minutes remaining when Lafayette trapped a throw-in on the left and hooked into the centre where Miller outmuscled Taylor and tucked the bouncing ball under Norris to send the 515 travelling fans wild.

In stoppage-time Parkinson somehow headed a goalbound Ikpeazu header off his own line under pressure from Ben Williamson with the aid of the post as United pressed for a winner which never arrived.
