Dover extended their unbeaten run in Vanarama Conference to 12 games in emphatic fashion after crushing relegation-haunted Dartford 6-1 at Crabble.

Tom Murphy (2), Nicky Deverdics, Richard Orlu, Liam Bellamy and Barry Cogan scored the goals which condemned struggling Darts to their ninth defeat in their past 10 league games.

The win, Whites' biggest of the season, was also their first league triumph against their Kent rivals since the 4-2 success in December 2008.

And it could have been a much bigger winning margin had it not been for the first-half heroics of Darts goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim.

He produced five stunning saves to keep his side in the game after former Dover striker Harry Crawford had cancelled out Nicky Deverdics fifth-minute opener for Chris Kinnear’s side.

Murphy, Stefan Payne and Deverdics were all denied by Ibrahim as Whites piled on the pressure in the final 10 minutes of the opening half.

But he couldn’t prevent Orlu's powerful header from Barry Cogan's corner in stoppage time.

Whatever Dover boss Chris Kinnear said to his players at half-time worked as his side scored a quickfire double, eight minutes after the restart.

Murphy made it 3-1 in the 53rd minute with a stunning long-range effort before Bellamy danced his way through to drill low past Ibrahim.

Cogan made it five from the penalty spot, after 77 minutes, after Payne had been bundled over before Payne then set up Murphy to tap home the sixth two minutes later.

The result leaves Dartford in deep trouble, eight points from safety, while Dover moved up a place into 12th spot, four points off the play-off places.
