Dover Athletic 0 Boreham Wood 0 match report
10:54, 31 March 2014
Dover failed to score for the third home game in a row as their Skrill South promotion ambitions suffered another Crabble setback on Saturday.
Chris Kinnear’s side were booed off at the final whistle after failing to beat a limited Boreham Wood outfit.
The Whites started promisingly enough, with Moses Ademola causing Wood problems down the left and the outcome might have been different if Barry Cogan and Nathan Elder had finished off openings created by Ademola in the opening 20 minutes.
But, having survived those early scares, the Hertfordshire side began to play with a little more confidence going forward without ever threatening until the game sprang to life around the hour mark.
Wood keeper James Russell made two superb saves from headers by James Rogers and Cogan while at the other end, Wood skipper Callum Reynolds saw his header clip the top of the crossbar.
Dover were saved by the woodwork again in injury-time when Junior Morias also headed against the bar and Dover’s frustrated fans made their feelings felt when the final whistle went a few moments later.
Fifth-placed Dover, who meet Bromley in the Kent Senior Cup semi-finals at Crabble on Tuesday, travel to Bishop's Stortford in the league on Saturday.
