My fears for angling on Dover's Admiralty pier

The angling on Dover’s Admiralty pier was in the news again with a meeting held at the council offices.
The chief executive of the Harbour Board was there to answer questions put by concerned anglers.
It was agreed that a trial day of angling would take place but with many caveats that included four security guards and a walk through metal detector!
This, if it was to become the norm, would be so expensive that I feel angling would just not be viable.
Let us hope this will not be the case and I would just like to say a massive thank you to all who are doing their very best to keep pier angling alive in Dover.
Down at Hythe, sea angling from the Princes Parade is also in jeopardy and on Sunday, August 15 there will be a ‘save princes parade” rally from Battery point to the Imperial hotel.
Please come along with banners or your car horn and let the council know the people of Hythe do not want this folly!
Worth saving? Many residents think so.
