Chris Kinnear was pleased with Dover's performance in the goalless stalemate against Tranmere.

The game between the two play-off rivals was competitive and fiesty with defender Sean Raggett having the best chance to win it - seeing his header bounce off the crossbar, as Dover pressed for a winner in the last 20 minutes.

Mitch Walker also played his part at the other end denying Tranmere, leaving Kinnear to praise a good team performance.

The result leaves Whites seventh ahead of Tuesday night's home game against Lincoln.

Victory there and a clean-sheet could put them fourth - above Tranmere.

Kinnear said: "Tranmere seemed to think they won the game the way they reacted at the end.

"They knew it would be hard against us, we beat them at their place, I was happy in respect of our performance, which was really good.

"We threw people forward in the last five or 10 minutes, they gambled doing the same, and all of a sudden both teams had efforts at the end.

"For 80 minutes though there was no doubt we were the better side, they didn't win a corner in the first half, and hardly had a shot.

He added: "We had chances to win it at the end, but that's the way it is."

"We didn't lose and it keeps us right up there with them, and with three games in hand, but we have to get points from them."

Kinnear was also pleased with the debut of Craig Braham-Barrett who signed for the club late in the week.

"I thought he did well, nullifying the threat of Adam Mekki who has been getting goals recently." he said.

"We needed a left back, with injuries to Liam Bellamy, Aswad Thomas and Tyrone Sterling.

"We were happy to get him, and the move went through very quickly."
