You may notice something different about a few of my team-mates before Friday's Vanarama National League clash with Woking at Crabble.

The game is being televised live on BT Sport and you can be assured that some of the lads will be going all out to look good for the cameras.

And not just with their footballing ability either, although some might decide to wear new boots!

You see, I am positive the fans at the ground and those watching around the country, will see some well-groomed players to mark the occasion.

A game on TV is great opportunity for us as players to showcase our ability and there is always something special about it.

But it’s not only with their ability that some of the lads are wanting to impress.

I am sure there will be a few fresh haircuts as they try to look their best, while there are some – no names mentioned – who will be spending extra time in front of the mirror before heading out of the tunnel.

It does make me laugh seeing players do it because once the game starts the cameras are forgotten about – but everyone to their own.

You won’t find me worrying about how the hair looks!

Last week I said in this column that it would be sad to see Tom Wynter leave after he was transfer listed.

I might have to change that opinion after what he did to me following last Saturday’s game against Guiseley.

I found myself on the end of some of his mischief during my post-match interview for Dover FC TV.

It started out with Wynts and Orlu trying to put me off by standing behind the camera and pulling faces while I was being interviewed.

Then, when I just about regained my composure, Wynts came flying around the corner with a sock on his head pretending to mug me.

Obviously, we had to do a second take and hopefully that came across a lot better than the first thanks to Wynts’ antics.

At least they cheered me up after what had been a disappointing draw.

It’s always good to have someone like Wynts around to provide the humour.
