Dover Athletic’s poor start to the season continued after losing at Leyton Orient 3-0 on Monday.
It is the third defeat in a row for Whites as they’ve taken just four points from their opening seven matches.
Jobi McAnuff put Orient in front five minutes into the second half and Josh Koroma sealed the points eight minutes from the end. Matt Harrold then came off the bench to add a third late in injury time.
Chris Kinnear made two changes from the side that were beaten 2-1 by Eastleigh on Saturday with Kadell Daniel and Anthony Jeffrey coming on for Inih Effiong and Nortei Nortey.
Leyton Orient started the match brightly and had a chance in the sixth minute to take the lead from a free-kick that was given away by Jack Connors. Jobi McAnuff crossed for Charlie Lee who headed towards goal but was well saved by Mitch Walker.
Josh Koroma came close to opening the scoring in the 14th minute when his shot from outside the box just missed the target.
The first effort from Dover came 17 minutes into the match when Aryan Tajbakhsh passed to Kadell Daniel with his back to goal. The forward shot on the turn but it was deflected and fell kindly for goalkeeper Dean Brill.
Walker kept Dover in the game in the 36th minute when he made a good save from Lee. The Orient midfielder found space on the edge of the box and fired a shot towards goal but it was at a good height for the Whites goalkeeper who pushed wide.
Lee was then on hand to snuff out an attack by the visitors. Jeffrey was about to play Mitch Brundle in on goal but his last ditch tackle stopped the move.
Chris Kinnear had his goalkeeper to thank once again for keeping his side in the game on the stroke of half-time. Walker somehow managed to deflect Koroma’s shot from five yards out when the forward should have scored.
Five minutes into the half, Orient opened the scoring when a McAnuff shot from close range deflected off Daniel and into the net with Walker having no chance of saving.
Kevin Lokko came closest to getting one back for Whites when he had a free-header from a Brundle corner 20 minutes into the second half but could not hit the target.
Another chance fell to Koroma 10 minutes from time when he turned Connor Essam and struck his shot from just inside the box but it sailed over the bar.
Koroma got the goal he deserved in the 82nd minute to seal the points for Orient. James Dayton played the forward through on goal and he calmly finished past Walker to make it 2-0.
In the third minute of injury time, Matt Harrold added a third when he headed home Myles Judd's cross to add more misery for Dover.
