Southall: We can spring surprise against Daggers
00:00, 21 February 2002
DAGENHAM fans are probably relishing the prospect of Dover Athletic's visit to Victoria Road on Saturday - but so is Whites' manager Neville Southall.
With the Daggers top of the Conference and Whites propping up the other end of the table, the phrase “home banker” will be seen in most quarters as a pretty safe bet, especially after Dover’s 2-0 home defeat by second-from-bottom Scarborough last Saturday - their fourth league reverse in a row.
Southall, however, clearly intends to remain defiant until all hope is lost. The Athletic boss insists: “We are good enough to go anywhere in this league and win, and I never worry about who the opposition are."
