Dover Athletic moved up two places to 15th in Vanarama Conference in emphatic fashion after crushing struggling Nuneaton Town 5-0 at Crabble.

It was Dover's biggest victory of the season to-date, eclipsing the 4-1 win at Telford on September 6.

It also means Dover have now kept a stunning six consecutive league clean sheets at home and you can also add two more in the FA Cup to that impressive statistic.

Macclesfield were the last away team to score in a league game at Crabble on September 13.

Chris Kinnear’s side started strongly and led 3-0 at half-time thanks to three goals in 11 minutes from Tom Murphy (21), captain Connor Essam (24) and Nick Deverdics (32).

Striker Stefan Payne completed the rout against second bottom Nuneaton after he struck twice in the 59th and 82nd minutes.

Payne's double completed a fine individual performance from the summer signing after he laid on two of the three opening goals.

First his cross was headed home by his attacking partner Murphy to start the ball rolling.

He then played a major role in the third goal after he nipped in to take the ball off Nuneaton keeper James Hogarth-Wren while he was attempting to see the ball out for a throw in.

Payne's determination paid dividends with his pass setting up Deverdics to put the ball into an empty net.

Earlier, boss Kinnear made two changes to his line-up from the 0-0 draw against Forest Green Rovers at the venue last Saturday.

Tom Bonner and Tyrone Sterling returned to the impressive defensive line from their one-game suspensions and that saw Liam Bellamy and Tom Wynter drop to the bench.
