Assistant manager Nicky Southall hopes Dover’s other players can continue to chip in with goals to help ease the burden on their strikers.

Centre-half Kevin Lokko and left-back Shadrach Ogie scored for Whites as they claimed a 2-0 win over Aldershot in the National League.

Captain Lokko put the home team ahead in the 15th minute, converting Jai Reason’s free-kick before Leyton Orient loanee Ogie scored a fine second.

Dover are in the market for at least one frontman but Southall wants the side to share the goals around.

With Lokko’s goal having come from a set-piece, he said: “That was something we spoke about on Friday that we have to be better with our deliveries.

“Especially with the team we put out there, we had good height in the side and, if you put the ball in areas, you have got to rely on your team-mates to attack it.

“Obviously, Kevin has done that and he’s got his goal.

“We need more of that, especially if the goals are drying up, up top.

“We need other people to chip in.

“That’s happened with two defenders getting both goals (on Saturday).”

Dover were in control for much of their match against the Shots and Southall felt the final scoreline flattered Saturday’s visitors to Crabble.

He said: “I think 2-0 probably flattered them.

“Overall, on the balance of play, I think we had more than enough chances to score four or five.

“But we will take the 2-0 win, the clean sheet and move on to the next game.”

With Dover a goal in front, Ogie added a superb second on his home debut.

He picked the ball up inside his own half before he drove into the penalty box and drilled in the team's second.

“It was fantastic,” Southall said of Ogie’s solo effort.

“People raised their eyebrows when we signed him because, obviously, we are on the look-out for another striker. But we identified him.

"He has great strength for someone who is 18. He is going to go a long way in the game.

"He has great pace, a lovely left foot, he’s a lovely character and he ticks a lot of boxes in many ways. His goal was fantastic.

"He picked it up on the halfway line, drove forward with his pace and unleashed a rocket into the bottom corner which, for me, is probably goal of the season so far."

Dover, 12th in the league, visit sixth-placed Halifax tomorrow night.
