Part of the A2 was blocked when a car spun out of control and blocked the carriageway.

Police were called to the London-bound stretch of the road near Boughton services at 12.51pm.

No injuries were reported despite ambulances being sent to the scene.

Traffic is beginning to return to normal.

One motorist, who was stuck for more than 40 minutes, said heavy sleet was falling at the time.
