A man has been taken to a London hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a road sweeper and lorry closed the A2 for several hours.
Three fire engines and and ambulance crew were called when the collision happened at around 4.21pm on the London bound carriageway between the Travelodge at Dunkirk and the Boughton Golf Club at Brenley Corner.
It also affected traffic travelling towards the M2 J7.
Police warned the London bound stretch of the A2 would remain closed until at least midnight and put diversions in place.
The road has now reopened.
