Another of the big banks has announced that it will be closing its branch in Faversham.
Lloyds plans to shut its site in Court Street within the next 12 months.
It is among 29 branches and 15 Halifax sites the company is closing in response to "a shift in customer behaviour".
It follows the announcement last month that Barclays bank, also in Court Street, will close in August. It leaves just NatWest and Nationwide as the only banks in the town.
Justifying the Lloyds decision, its retail director Vim Maru said: "Over the past five years, we’ve seen customers carry out significantly fewer transactions at these locations.
"Like many businesses on the high street, we must change for a future where branches will be used in a different way, and visited less often."
But the decision is likely to cause dismay in the town, and questions will be asked about what will become of the imposing, character building.
