Blaze rips through terraced home

A WOMAN was lucky to escape after a terraced house in a Kent town was completely gutted by fire.
Firefighters were called to the property, in Bysingwood Road, Faversham, at 11.45am on Friday to find clouds of thick black smoke billowing from the building.
One lady was alone in the house, and tried to put it out, but was forced to call for help.
Three fire engines attended the scene, and crews put the blaze out quickly, which they believe started in the television.
The blaze destroyed every part of the house apart from one room and the property is now uninhabitable.
Station manager Dennis McCaughan said: "There was no smoke alarm in the property. If this had happened at night, it would have undoubtedly have resulted in the resident being killed."
