A HEAD chef at a restaurant appeared in court today accused of attempting to murder a woman at her home in Ashford.

Peter Cooper, 35, employed at La Roche restaurant in the Market Place, Faversham, appeared before magistrates at Ashford.

Mr Cooper, who lives above the restaurant, is charged with attempting to kill Sarah Longley on Friday, July 16. He was remanded in custody and is due to make his next appearance at Maidstone Crown Court.
