Crash between 4 vehicles brings traffic to a halt on the M2

A crash involving four vehicles has caused gridlock on a motorway.
It happened on the M2 London bound-between Junction 6 for Faversham and Junction 5 for Sittingbourne at around 6.45pm.
Highways officials confirmed one of the vehicles involved caught fire and witnesses said multiple fire engines, police and an ambulance crews attended.
One lane was closed following a spillage and the carriageway eventually reopened at around 8.30pm.
However, long delays were expected while existing traffic cleared.
Drivers were earlier advised to take the A20/M20 from Dover.
