M2 crash between Faversham and Sittingbourne causing delays

There are lengthy delays after a crash reportedly involving up to eight cars on the M2 this afternoon.
Police and the Highways Agency were called to the pile-up between junction six for Faversham and junction five for Sittingbourne at around 2.30pm today.
The road fully re-opened at 3.30pm but long tailbacks remain.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 2pm to the M2 coastbound carriageway near to junction six to reports of a collision involving at least four vehicles.
"The carriageway is partially closed as a result and traffic delays are being reported.
"Officers, South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service are on scene.
"Minor injuries have been reported. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes."
