Drivers faced long delays earlier following a crash on the M2 London-bound.
Police closed the motorway between Junction 6 for Faversham and Junction 5 for the A249 and the Stockbury Roundabout after two lorries collided at around 4am.
Officers say an HGV had jackknifed after crashing into a car, blocking both lanes.
Traffic was diverted via the A20, M20 and A249.
All lanes reopened on the M2 at around 6am.
Police spokesman Natalie Hardy said: "We were called to a collision involving a lorry and a car on the M2 London-bound at Junction 6 at around 3.20am.
"Officers attended the scene where the road was closed to assist in recovering the vehicles. There were no reported injuries."
