A 54-year-old motorist is in hospital with serious injuries after his car crashed on the M2.
The man, from East Ham in London, was driving a Ford Focus when it struck the crash barrier on the London-bound carriageway about a mile past the junction six turn off to Faversham last night.
He was unconscious at the scene and taken to the Medway Maritime Hospital. Although serious, his injuries are not life-threatening.
After the accident, the slip road at junction six and the main carriageway were closed for around three hours and traffic diverted.
