KENT Police have charged eight people with with drug offences after carrying out dawn raids on addresses in Faversham and Sittingbourne.

Originally nine people were arrested after search warrants were executed by about 70 officers on Wednesday.

Six men and two woman aged between 18 and 49, have been charged with offences including supplying crack cocaine and heroin and possession of Class A drugs.

A Sittingbourne man, aged 18, who was also arrested during the swoop, has been released on police bail.

All eight of those charged are due to appear before magistrates at Sittingbourne today.
