All Year 11 pupils at a secondary school are learning from home due to positive coronavirus case.
Along with nine members of staff, the year group at Abbey School, Faversham, will now isolate for 14 days as a result of one pupil catching the virus.
The school has operated a 'bubble' system since the start of the academic year - meaning all year groups are entirely separated in different parts of the site, with varying lunch time schedules.
Therefore, all other pupils will continue to attend.
Headteacher Dr Rowland Speller said: "My colleagues and I are following Public Health England guidance to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone within the school community and as a result all Year 11 pupils and nine members of staff will be self-isolating at home for 14 days.
“The rest of the school remains open with staff and pupils continuing to follow PHE guidance in terms of social distancing, handwashing and cleaning to minimise the spread of the virus and ensure everyone can continue to learn and work in a safe environment.
"We feel the bubble system continues to be the best approach to keeping our whole community safe and avoiding the spread of any infection.
“I would like to thank the staff, our parents and carers and our pupils for their support and understanding at this difficult time.”
Home learning will be provided via Microsoft Teams and staff will support pupils remotely.
