Future of town's carnival in jeopardy
00:00, 04 September 2003
FAVERSHAM Carnival could fold within two years unless it finds a new source of funds.
Street collections and other fundraising activities have not kept pace with costs said to be spiralling out of control.
The carnival committee now has to find about £5,000 to £7,000 for public liability insurance, dresses for the Court and general transport costs.
The kitty stands at about £400. Seven years ago there was a £5,000 balance.
