Thanet Way to close between Whitstable and Faversham

Commuters are being warned a section of one of Kent's busiest roads will be shut for up to two nights.
Roadworks are due to get underway on the A299 Thanet Way between Whitstable and Faversham tonight.
They are expected to take up to two nights to complete and the A299 London-bound will be shut between 7pm and 6am between the Clapham Hill turn-off and Brenley Corner roundabout.
The coastbound carriageway will be open as usual.
The alternative route is A290 Clapham Hill, Pean Hill, Honey Hill, Blean Common, Blean Hill, Tile Kiln Hill, Whitstable Road, St Thomas Hill, Whitstable Road, London Road, London Road Roundabout, A2050 Harbledown Bypass, A2 Dover Road and Boughton Bypass.
The programme is subject to weather and other factors which may cause changes at short notice.
