Man arrested for 'pointing laser at police helicopter' looking for burglars in Hernhill

A 22-year-old man accused of directing a laser at a police helicopter has been arrested.
The National Police Air Service chopper was targeted while searching for burglars in Hernhill, near Faversham.
The man, from Faversham, was arrested by officers on foot and remains in custody.
They confirmed shortly afterwards they also located the suspect following the attempted burglary at a farm.
A spokesman said: "At around 9.15pm on Sunday, January 13, a police helicopter was assisting a search in the Dargate area of Faversham to locate suspects following a reported burglary.
"It is alleged that whilst in the air a laser pen was repeatedly directed at the helicopter from the direction of Wey Street, in Hernhill.
"Officers on foot searched the area and arrested a 22-year-old man from Faversham. The man remains in custody."
