Firefighters rescue man from blaze at house in Westgate Road, Faversham

Firefighters rescued a man from a blaze at a house in Faversham after neighbours reported seeing smoke pouring from an upstairs window.
Crews were called to Westgate Road ar around 1.30am this morning after the alarm was raised.
They saw lights on at the house and noticed a television was switched on but got no answer when they called out.
Firefighters wearing oxygen tanks were sent in to search the property and found the occupant in a bedroom.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene for smoke inhalation before he was taken to hospital.
Crews were stood down after two hours. The cause of the fire is unknown.
