Police called to Faversham after man robbed and threatened power tool

Police are continuing to question a woman in custody after a man was reportedly robbed and threatened with a power tool.

The incident in Faversham yesterday sparked a huge response from officers including the police helicopter.

The victim had cash stolen from him after being attacked by a man and a woman, police say.

A woman was arrested at the scene but police are still hunting the man and continuing inquiries today, a spokesman said.

Two ambulances, forensics and several patrol cars were called to Lower Road at about 9.15am.

A man was injured in his hand after being cut by a sharp item and was treated at the minor injuries unit in Faversham, an ambulance service spokesman said.

Police confirmed today the victim was threatened with a power tool - but have not released further details about the exact type of tool.

A 49-year-old woman from Canterbury has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

She remains in custody today while investigations continue.
