Roadworks which caused mayhem on Faversham's roads this morning are expected to continue into the end of next week.
Two sets of traffic lights at either ends of the town brought the whole area to a standstill during rush hour.
Drivers complained of 15 minute journeys taking over an hour and dozens of roads - some very narrow - came to a complete halt.
A set of traffic lights in Whitstable Road and in London Road A2 were the main cause of the problems.
The A2 from the Western Link roundabout to Brenley Corner, Whitstable Road, East Street, Crescent Road, Court Street, Conduit Street, Love Lane and Graveney Road were all back-to-back with vehicles.
Stagecoach reported that all of its buses were delayed because of the traffic.
Unfortunately, the congestion is looking to continue.
The work on the A2 is expected to last until Wednesday, December 7 and in Whitstable Road, until Friday, December 9.
