A DISTRAUGHT mother has made a tearful appeal to her missing daughter to let her know she is safe and well.
Kelly Johnson, 16, who comes from a small village outside Faversham, has not been seen since her parents, Michael and Sharon, dropped her off at Faversham station on Wednesday, June 11, at around 7.30pm.
In a direct appeal to Kelly, Mrs Johnson said: "Please call us and let us know you are okay. We miss you and we are so worried about you."
Kelly, who has an adult brother, a nine-year-old brother, and an eight-year-old sister, told them she was going to see a friend in Canterbury. She never turned up and has not been heard from since.
She had no change of clothing and carried just £10. CCTV images have captured a girl matching Kelly's description on her own on the London-bound slow train at around the time she went missing, though it is not known if she went to London.
The National Missing Person's Helpline is involved and have put posters around the cacity asking for information.
Reading from a prepared statement at Sittingbourne Police Station, a clearly distraught Mrs Johnson added: "We are missing her terribly. If anyone knows where she is, please come forward and let the police know.
"We would like to say to Kelly if she is watching that we want you to know we are not angry with you. We love you and you are not in any trouble. We just want to know you are safe."
Det Insp Maria Shepherd said: "This is totally out of character for Kelly not to be in contact with her family for this length of time and we are very very concerned about her safety.
"I would like to emphasise that Kelly is not in trouble with the police but we are very concerned and it is important that she either contacts ourselves or her parents so that we know that she's okay and that she's safe and well."
Kelly is 5ft tall, slim with long straight ginger/ auburn hair. When last seen she was wearing black flared trousers, a brown and cream crochet top and blue platform shoes.
She wears a gold charm bracelet on her left wrist, which holds five charms, a silver watch with a purple face, a gold necklace with a large letter 'K' on it and a pair of large gold twisted earrings.
Anyone who has any information on Kelly's whereabouts is asked to call 01795 477055.
