Two people arrested on suspicion of child neglect after a toddler was found wandering the streets alone have been bailed.
Police were called to Faversham at 4pm yesterday following reports of "concern for the welfare of a child".
It is believed the youngster - thought to be aged about two - may have been picked up in Ospringe after they were spotted by a motorist.
Reports on social media suggest police carried out door-to-door enquiries in the area in an attempt to identify the child.
A 38-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, both from Faversham, were arrested on suspicion of child neglect.
The man was also questioned on suspicion of assault and drink driving.
They have both been bailed until May 8.
The child has been taken into the care of social services.
