The body of Peaches Geldof has been released to her family after she was found dead at her Kent home.

A post-mortem examination into the death of the 25-year-old socialite in Wrotham proved inconclusive yesterday.

Kent County Council today confirmed the North West Kent coroner's office has released her body to her family so funeral arrangements can be made.

The post-mortem was carried out by a Home Office pathologist at Darent Valley Hospital, in Dartford, yesterday.

The coroner then officially opened an investigation pending further toxicology tests, which could take several weeks, to establish how Peaches, who grew up in Faversham, died.

When the full post-mortem examination is complete, North West Kent coroner Roger Hatch will then decide if an inquest should be held in Gravesend.

Police are continuing their investigation into Peaches' death at her house in Fairseat Lane, Wrotham, on Monday afternoon.

They are treating her death as "sudden" and "unexplained" - but not suspicious.

The daughter of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates lived in Wrotham with husband Tom Cohen and their two young sons Astala and Phaedra.

Peaches followed in her parents' footsteps in 2012 when she married Tom at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence church in Davington.

The village church was also the scene of family sadness in September 2000 for the funeral of Peaches' mother Paula Yates after a heroin overdose.

Bouquets have been left outside the church this week where prayers were led for the Geldofs on Monday evening.

The Rev Tracey Bateson said: "I have been in touch with Bob to offer my condolences.

"I will be there for him as much as possible, just as I would with any other parishioners."

Neighbour and friend of the family Jacqi Hitchcock has lived in Priory Road for 56 years and has known Bob the entire time he has been living in Davington Priory.

Speaking of her memories of Peaches, she said: "I remember Peaches as a lovely girl. As a child, she was happy, creative and so very beautiful.

"I haven't seen her in Faversham since her wedding, but she was the most beautiful bride I have ever seen.

"When they were children and young teenagers, they would spend a lot of their holidays here and I know why they loved it so very much – when they were in Faversham - they weren't celebrities, they were just children.

"They would go to Faversham pools, to Davington park... just like any other Faversham child."

Earlier, it was revealed Peaches had told a magazine just weeks before her death she "had the perfect life" and was "happier than ever".

The former model claimed that after having two young children "being a mum is the best part" in a poignant last column for a magazine.

Her second column for Mother & Baby magazine told how she had found happiness in motherhood after her "wild past".

But, just weeks later, emergency services were called to Peaches' house in Wrotham at 1.35pm on Monday "following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman".

Hours earlier, she had paid tribute to her mother Paula Yates, whose fatal heroin overdose 14 years ago aged 41 had dominated her life.

Peaches, who was 11 when her mother died, uploaded a touching picture of the pair together on her Instagram account with the simple message: "Me and my mum".

Her father Bob - who lives in Davington, near Faversham - said he is "beyond pain" and her older sister Fifi paid tribute to her with a touching photo of them as children.
