Sir Bob Geldof says he is “beyond pain” following the shock death of his daughter Peaches yesterday afternoon.
The singer – who lives in Faversham – told of his sadness after the mum-of-two was found dead at her home in Wrotham.
Peaches, 25, grew up in the town and married her second husband Thomas Cohen at the St Mary Magdalene & St Lawrence Church in Davington in 2012.
A statement released yesterday by Sir Bob, who lives in Davington Priory, said: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain.
"She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.
"Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child.
"How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever.
"How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof."
Celebrity photographer Brian Aris, from Throwley, near Faversham, posted a moving tribute on his Facebook page earlier today.
Mr Aris photographed Peaches' wedding for an exclusive HELLO magazine article in 2012.
He said today: "Life can be wonderful and exciting but also brutally cruel. So it proved last night when the devastating news broke of the death of Peaches Geldof.
"Peaches was a true chip off the Bob and Paula block. Beautiful of course but also sassy, forever challenging, clever, great fun and a wonderful mother to her two sons.
"It's so tragic to lose Peaches as it was to part with her mother Paula fourteen years ago. My heart goes out to Thomas and Bob and all the family as they try to understand and face their loss.
"That loss is incomprehensible and their pain is shared by so many of us who new Peaches throughout her life."
Peaches' older sister Fifi Trixibelle Geldof, 31, has today also paid her own tribute to her "beautiful baby sister."
She posted a photograph on Instagram of the two of them as children, and an emotional message: "My beautiful baby sister... Gone but never forgotten. I love you, Peaches x"
Police have confirmed they were called to Peaches’ home at 1.35pm yesterday afternoon following reports of "concern for the welfare of a woman”.
A police statement said: "At this stage, the death is being treated as an unexplained sudden death. Officers are working to establish the circumstances around the death."
Peaches – whose mum Paula Yates died in September 2000 - had been married twice, most recently to Thomas.
He said yesterday: “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday.
"We shall love her forever. Thomas Astala and Phaedra Geldof-Cohen"
Celebrities have reacted with sadness at news of Peaches' death.
Lily Allen tweeted, saying her thoughts were with her family, while Ellie Goulding also posted "RIP Peaches".
Singer-songwriter Sam Smith described her death as "so so sad", and Tom Fletcher from McFly says it was "awful" news.
Meanwhile Sharon Osbourne said she was "devastated".
Just a day ago, Peaches posted a picture of herself and her mum on picture website Instagram.
Peaches' former agent, Ray Levine, told of his shock at her untimely death.
He said: "I am absolutely lost for words.
"This is the last thing I would have expected to have happened to her.
"Obviously we don't know the details, but whatever happened, it's a tragedy."
Peaches was born in London in 1989 and was the granddaughter of TV icon Hughie Green.
Her sisters are Fifi Trixibelle Geldof and Pixie Geldof. She also had a younger half-sister, Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof.
She grew up in Chelsea, London, and Faversham.
In an interview with Elle magazine last year, Peaches told how difficult it was to come to terms with her mother's death:
"I remember the day my mother died, and it's still hard to talk about it. I just blocked it out.
"I went to school the next day because my father's mentality was 'keep calm and carry on'.
"So we all went to school and tried to act as if nothing had happened. But it had happened. I didn't grieve. I didn't cry at her funeral.
"I couldn't express anything because I was just numb to it all. I didn't start grieving for my mother properly until I was maybe 16."
Peaches' death is not being treated as suspicious and the area coroner has been informed.
