More than 200 homes were without power after a car hit a telegraph pole.
Engineers turned off the electricity supply in Brogdale Road, Faversham, out of the "interest of the public's health and safety".
The road was shut in both directions.
Overhead cabling was disconnected after the telegraph pole was knocked to the ground.
Motorists trying to head through Brogdale Road were held back by police while the closure was enforced.
UK Power Networks teams arrived to restore most properties with power before 12pm.
A total of 206 homes were affected.
The issue was originally reported at 10.15am with some properties having their power restored by just after 11.30am.
The car which crashed into the pole has been recovered.
UK Power Networks said supplies were restored to all homes just before 7pm.
