A road was blocked this morning after a lorry shed its load of orange peel.

Police and highways crews were called after the goods spilled from the back of the Mike Beer truck in Whitstable Road, Faversham shortly after 11am.

The road was closed between the junctions of Love Lane and Cyprus Road while the blockage was cleared.

A spokesman for Mike Beer Transport says the lorry is back in its yard and the firm is investigating what caused the incident.
