Three crashes on the M2 have caused traffic chaos this morning.

Police were called out three times in an hour to the accidents on the motorway between junction five for Sittingbourne and junction six for Faversham.

The first accident, during torrential rain, was at 7.41am when a Ford Fiesta and a Peugeot crashed on the London-bound carriageway.

A rolling road block was put in place while the cars were moved to the hard shoulder and paramedics were called to the scene.

The second crash happened at around 8.20am when two more cars crashed on the coast-bound carriageway.

Paramedics reported minor injuries.

Just ten minutes later a Peugeot and BMW had a minor smash and were shortly moved over to the hard shoulder.

There were no reported injuries in that incident.

Traffic is still moving slowly but both roads are open.
