Thugs assault man in street

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital with a possible fractured jaw and bruising to a rib after he was assaulted in the street.

Police say the victim was approached by two males in Woodside, Faversham. They blocked his path and asked him if he had any money.

Sally Smith, police media and communications officer said: "The man replied he did not, at which point it is alleged that he was assaulted. He required hospital treatment."

Police are appealing for information following the incident which occurred between 11.45pm on Saturday, July 1 and 12.15am on July 2.
