Traffic is moving again after two people were injured in a crash on the A2 near Brenley Corner this morning.
Kent Police was called at 8.30am when a white Ford Transit van and a blue Vauxhall Vectra collided on the coastbound carriageway.
An air ambulance and South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
A police spokesman said: "The London-bound carriageway was closed to allow the air ambulance to arrive but was reopened at 10am.
"One lane of the coastbound carriageway remains closed."
Among the motorists caught up in tailbacks were people with classic cars travelling to the Faversham Transport Festival.
