A man has been arrested following a serious crash which closed a road for eight hours.
Police were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a lorry on the A251 Ashford Road near Faversham, shortly before 3.30am.
Two female passengers who were travelling in the car have been taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.
A 61-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in custody.
The road was initially closed in both directions between Badlesmere and Sheldwich.
Stagecoach posted on X, formerly Twitter, to say its 666 route to Faversham had been disrupted as a result.
It said: “Due to an RTC on the A251 the road has been closed between Badlesmere and Sheldwich.
“As a result the 666 service will divert to Canterbury from Challock to allow connection with the 3 & 3x services.”
It had reopened by 11.30am and normal bus services have resumed.
