Dramatic footage shows cars in flames on the M2 following a crash.
Plumes of black smoke and raging flames can be seen from three cars which caught fire after the crash near Faversham yesterday.
All the cars were destroyed as a result of the blaze bringing traffic to a standstill for two hours in the morning rush hour.
Daniel Wilkins captured the footage of the fireball on the motorway on his way to work in Dartford.
He said: "I thought at first a vehicle had caught fire whilst it was stuck in traffic around that junction.
"It was only once I got close I could see it was following a four car pile up.
"The middle car, sandwiched between the two others, was pretty engulfed with flames, but I could see that fortunately all drivers and passengers were out of their vehicles, waiting for the emergency services to arrive."
Two people were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford after the crash at 8am.
Four cars were involved in the pile up on the Londonbound carriageway leading to four mile queues as the motorway was shut in both directions.
Pictures from the scene show the destruction after the fire with two cars and a van completely gutted by the blaze.
A fire service spokesman says the fire started after a fuel tank ruptured in the crash.
They said: "The three cars were totally burnt out inside. The fire is believed to have started as a result of a fuel tank rupturing due to the crash, and the force of the crash making it come into contact with a hot engine."
Emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance responded to the incident and the casualties were assessed by paramedics.
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance service (Secamb) said paramedics left the scene shortly before 10.30am taking two patients to hospital for further checks and treatment.
