POLICE have seized what they believe to be class A drugs and cash after executing a drugs warrant at a property in Love Lane at Faversham.

The action formed part of a ‘Safer Swale’ scheme named Operation Oblong, which was aimed at disrupting the supply and possession of drugs in the Faversham area.

At around 10am on Thursday police officers used specialist equipment to gain entry into the house.

Highly trained officers then conducted a thorough search of the property. This resulted in the seizure of what police believe to be 52 wraps of heroin. Several hundred pounds of cash and drugs paraphernalia were also taken by the Oblong Team.

A 45-year-old Faversham woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. She has been bailed to Sittingbourne Police Station pending further enquiries.

A 34-year-old Herne Bay man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. He has been bailed to Sittingbourne Police Station pending further enquiries.

A 36-year-old man of no fixed home was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. He has been bailed to Sittingbourne Police Station pending further enquiries.

A 33-year-old Faversham man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. He has been bailed to Sittingbourne Police Station pending further enquiries.

Sgt Russ Phillips, who was in charge of the operation, said: “Our action reinforces our message that we are dedicated to tackling the problem of drugs within the Swale area. I hope people will be reassured that we are constantly striving to make their area a safer place for all law abiding residents.”
