Faversham Town boss Ray Turner looking forward to game against Corinthian Casuals

Ray Turner believes his Faversham side will go into Saturday’s match against Corinthian-Casuals with confidence and belief after back-to-back wins.

Town grabbed a last-minute goal in their 3-2 victory over Phoenix Sports last weekend to take all three Bostik South points.

That followed a 2-1 win over Molesey and Turner believes his side are well placed in the league to play with confidence for the rest of the season.

He said: “We are sitting in the middle of the table and if we can maintain that belief, then I’m looking forward to how the rest of the season pans out.

“It (Corinthian-Casuals) is a hard place to go. The last couple of years they have grown as a side and they have got better year-on-year.

“We played a side in a similar position to them last week, so we will go there with a bit of confidence and belief.”

Harry Stannard scored twice against Phoenix to take his tally to four in his last two matches, with Liam King netting for the Lilywhites in the last minute.

Turner has been impressed with how Margate loanee Stannard has grown in confidence.

Turner said: “He has just started to find his form. Confidence is important for forward players.

“Last week’s game did him the world of good. The first goal in particular was taken well.

“He is highly thought of. Steve Watt over at Margate rates him a lot. It is an ideal situation that he is with us and is getting game time.

“All these players reach that level at different times. He will benefit from playing more games and I look forward to him carrying on.”
