Faversham Town caretaker boss Clive Walker hopes to build on win

Clive Walker hopes Faversham Town have been given a confidence boost after ending a bad run in the Bostik South East.
Faversham had not won in five matches and had lost their manager when Ray Turner decided to step down.
Caretaker manager Walker saw his side score a last minute winner against Guernsey on Saturday after five games without a win.
They face a tough match this weekend as their opponents VCD Athletic beat Herne Bay 7-1 at the weekend.
Walker said: “We have to try and get three points. They are on a bit of a good run but anything can happen in football.
“I hope that the confidence will carry on from Saturday as we did well in that match. I hope it will give everyone a lift.
“We have a couple of players with injuries so we will have to make a couple of changes, which can disrupt things. After a win you want to keep the same team together as they are doing well and you only get that understanding by playing with each other week in week out.”
Walker believes Faversham are starting to play some better football but wants his forwards to start taking their chances more.
In their 2-1 win over Guernsey, Walker felt his side should have been ahead sooner than the final minute of the match.
He said: “We played well on Saturday and it was the best we played for a few weeks. We could have been a few goals up by half-time.
“I said to them at half-time that they had to take their chances as we had created a lot of good opportunities.
“The forwards have to take responsibility for putting those away. It looked like it would be a draw. We had done enough to win the win and it was satisfying when Luke Harvey scored the winner.”
Faversham were knocked out of the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday but Walker does not feel that will dent the confidence of the side.
“We got beaten on Tuesday against Bromley and we could have done without having that game.
“They had some really top players and they were the better side.
“We had to make a few changes but it gives us more than just training, so from that point of view it was good.”
