Finn Smart-Weeden collected his first points as a British Junior SuperSport Championship rider.
The 14-year-old, from Painter’s Forstal, claimed a pair of 12th-placed finishes at Thruxton over the weekend.
A new track to Smart-Weeden, 36mph winds in Friday practice saw him blown across the track, towards the barrier, a number of times and he ended the session 26th.
He went on to qualify 20th for the first race, and was 14th by the third corner, before dropping back to 16th at the end of the opening lap.
For the rest of the race, he was in a pack of five battling for eighth place, eventually taking 12th to dull the memory of his poor start at Donington last month.
Smart-Weeden started a wet second race 11th on the grid and climbed to ninth before being hit by another rider, pushing him back to 15th.
He fought hard to catch the group and, once again, was in a pack battling for eighth, with riders constantly swapping positions.
The teenager was pleased to be in the points again with another 12th place but feels there’s more to come.
